The instructions are very clear. Be sure you look at everything in the packaging. The side piece of the top valance is very clever! It's worth the small charge to get a sample of the colors as it you can see if you like the colors in all types of light, and gives you the sense of the material. The blinds are NOT returnable as they state so do take the time to measure. Their customization part of the ordering is simple, but do take the time to read what they're asking and measure! The person who installed them was impressed as well. We bought one to see how we like it and then ordered two more. And read everything in the customization form as you can state like we did if you want the wand/rod and corded lift on a particular side based upon how you will get at the rod/cord.These Venetian blinds look and feel like a well-made high quality product, and the honey maple color matches our kitchen cabinets perfectly. I did find the installation instructions to be kind of basic and skimpy. Maybe for a person who is very handy it would be no problem. But when I sent a message to the seller, they responded promptly and did a good job answering my question. So we are very pleased with the final result.Love my new blinds! At one point while putting them up I got very frustrated, lol. I wouldn’t say they are too difficult to do yourself, however I would say that you should probably have some experience with doing some basic household jobs that involve using tools.They were a little pricy BUT worth it. Very good quality and will be buying more for other windows.I ordered a custom size a little larger than usual with variable mounting options, and after communicating with their customer service to work out the little things, it turned out beautiful!! I am so happy I can't say anything bad about them at all. Beautiful, works great, top quality, dig itThe custom blind arrived by the expected delivery date and was packaged really well. It probably took me longer to remove the protective packaging without damaging the blind than the actual installation itself.The ordering process was easy. All I needed was the measurements of my window opening for an inside-mount installation and TailorView automatically deducted from the width so the mounting brackets fit and allowed enough space on the sides so the blind moves without any interference on either side of the window opening. The blind has one extra slat at the bottom so if your measurement is slightly off, it will still completely cover the opening lengthwise.During the ordering process, after you enter the window opening size for an inside mounting installation and place the order, TailorView will contact you at the E-Mail address you provide during the ordering process and verify your measurements and they asked if I had any questions and I did verify that they would allow enough space for the blind to fit into the opening as it was measured and they informed me that they would make the correct deduction so that the blind would fit in the opening without me needing to make any deductions. The blind did fit perfectly into my opening so I was pleased with the fit. It was easy to install and probably took about ten minutes to put up after removing the old blind that didn’t fit the window opening correctly. The blind frame is made of sturdy metal and not cheap plastic. Once the blind is installed, all you have to do to install the valance trim is put it in place because it has magnets on the back side which are placed on the metal frame of the blind so it can be attached and removed for cleaning very easily.The valance was slightly wider than the opening so I cut off about 3/8 of an inch with a hacksaw and then it fit perfectly.This is a very well thought out and designed blind, and I would buy from TailorView Custom Blinds again.Hope this helps answer any questions you might have.This blinds are beautiful. The faux wood in honey maple was exactly right. No problems installing. I did report that the wands were not delivered in the initial box and the seller was responsive and we received the wands in a separate package.Although this took a while to receive it was totally worth the wait. I was a little nervous about ordering a custom blind through Amazon but the price was much lower than at the big box stores. I ordered this to replace one that I had for years that wore out and broke, it was covering a patio door in the master bedroom. I needed one that raised and lowered with a cord for that reason not wanting to bend over to the floor every time I wanted to raise or lower it. Corded blinds are not sold in my state and this company gave me the option. It tuned out great and fit perfectly. I’m very happy and I highly recommend the product for the price. They are plastic faux wood which is fine for my bedroom if it was for the living room I might would spend more for actual wood or fabric.
